Medusa and Body Paint

So, I covered Lily VonTrapp in metallic body paint and covered her head with snakes. You know, as a good friend does.

I put together this headpiece with rubber snakes and a headband. I feel I owe the nice man with the French bulldog an apology, as he stumbled upon me spray painting the snakes red on paper towels…it looked like something out of a horror movie!

After we completed Medusa, my husband suggested we add more color to the silver, so out came the mica. For those unfamiliar, mica is a biodegradable glitter used in bath bombs. So glitter…but extra, extra fine. And it got everywhere! It didn’t help that I absolutely had to get a shot of her blowing a fistful of it straight at me…

Persephone Awakening

So now that the time change has happened, I’m doing what I can to stay awake and positive.  Yep, one of those people that struggles with winter blues and it’s not pretty.  Gotten better at handling it though!  I shot this series as more of a springtime thing, but I’m posting it today because it’s gray, rainy, and dark at 4:30.  Sometimes reminders of the spring to come are helpful.

Anyway, I wanted to capture awakening, sensuality, and a smile with Jenna here.  Thank you, as always, for listening.

10 Years…

May 2005 was my turning point for photography…it went from being a fun creative outlet to, wow, I want to do this for the rest of my life.  I’m marking this as my 10th anniversary for photography even though I technically started earlier.  These two shoots were instrumental in that turning point.
