What do you feel is the “real” difference between the two and would you consider doing your own developing?

Ah, that could lead to an endless debate in my own head. I feel that film just has a more luxe quality to it. Plus, it gets me to slow down and really think about framing. With digital, it’s no big deal, you can bang out 200 shots in no time, but with the expense of film, plus the mystery of the image? You better put some thought into it! I used to do my own developing and hope to in the future.
