Veronica is the first dancer I worked with. I met her at a group shoot at a fellow photographers studio, and decided to shoot her again one on one. This was taken in my attic when I was still living in CT. She’s absolutely sweet and can contort into positions that make me hurt just looking at them!
This is one of my last shoots in apt 1003, and I can’t take credit for the concept. Theda came with the idea to do a Maltese Falcon/Sam Spade turned into a Fosse/burlesque type thing, so we took full advantage of the pre-war setting. This was after I had her doing strange gymnastics in the fireplace…
Sometimes, when you work with a model for a long time, you also inherit their sisters. This is Victoria, Heathers sister…clearly creative at posing…maybe this runs in the family?
Mikki and I met through a mutual friend and I admired her free spirit and comfort in her skin…totally natural!
A film shot, done in my former attic, with a mirror. Ok, that just sounded like a line from Clue.
This is one last of the images taken in the apartment where I grew up. The fun, pin up stockings don’t quite go with the slightly melancholy feel of the image, but…I kind of like the addition of red.
I have to applaud this makeup artist, Talya Taylor. I walked in to find her using stencils and an airbrush to create this spooky, creative look…

This must be the week of abysmal lighting conditions, so here’s another! Sometimes those harsh lamp shots can work out, with a LOT of futzing with contrast levels. Why all the bad lighting? Well, sometimes the opportunity to shoot strikes when I don’t have my good lights nearby. Not going to let that stop me 🙂

Meet Ryan!
I went to visit Ryan last month…we’d known each other for a year before we actually met in person, and I had promised photos in the beginning. Glad to finally get these done, and to give him a big hug. Once again, this was bedside lamp lighting, but I did my best…and entertained myself by playing with contrast.
