Tudor Fairytale

Tudor time!  Celeste of Poppyseed Roll Clothing and I got together with Jordan here for a royal, Tudor inspired shoot.  Celeste made this entire outfit, once again blowing my mind with her attention to detail.  Jordan made a perfect Tudor model, and don’t worry, managed to keep her head attached to her body.  We shot this at Saint Edwards State Park, one of my favorite places in the Pacific Northwest…the first shot is actually part of a playground…work with what you’ve got, right?

Russian Style Fairytale

Sometimes the stars align and you meet the right people.  I was completely delighted when Celeste of Poppyseed Roll Clothing reached out on instagram to discuss working together.  She hand makes all her designs, and I was pretty blown away.  I recruited Lyz to model, Celeste invited Michelle, a wonderful makeup artist, and we got together to create these Anastasia inspired Russian Fairytale Princess images.  We had originally planned to shoot in a park, but Lyz suggested the Suzallo Library, and I’m glad she did.

I would have been happy enough with the results, but when a team has so much fun working together, all the better!  And my cat tried to get into EVERYTHING during prep. Of course.

Primal

Personal growth ain’t always pretty, darlings…sometimes you have to get messy, get raw, get primal, and get REAL.  I wanted to capture that here…no makeup, and no skin retouching whatsoever.  And you know what?  I felt a really cool surge of power after shooting this.  I felt free.  Do the scary thing, whatever that means for you.

Loving the Rain

I must say, it was a bit of a gamble moving to Seattle.  I was (yes, was) one of those people heavily affected by winter weather back east, and I wasn’t sure how I’d handle the rainy reputation of the Pacific Northwest.  Good news!  I’ve learned to love moments in the rain.  I’m not going to lie and say I love it all the time…but, I’ve learned to appreciate moments.  I love the way the gray sky makes colors seem brighter.  I love the way the raindrops feel on my skin.  I love the sound it makes on the tent when camping.  Overall, I feel more peace in winter than I ever have before.

Little Hints of Naughty

I get it.  You may reeeeaaaaallly want to try a boudoir photo shoot, for yourself or as a gift…but then, all the “what if” thoughts start.  What if someone else sees?  What if we break up?  What if someone from work recognizes me?  What if I’m just too shy?  And depending on your life/career, these concerns can vary in strength.  Don’t want so-and-so from marketing to be whispering about your sexy photos by the water cooler?  I hear you.

Guess what?  You can work around that!  I’m showing some samples of sensual images that range in identity…you don’t even have to take anything off, or even show your face, if you don’t want to.  It’s all about choice, and what you think will make you feel comfortable.

Let’s talk.  You tell me your concerns/boundaries, and we’ll work around that.
